Achieving a strong connection with the outdoors was paramount for the garden enthusiast owners of this home in the Sydney suburb of Birchgrove. Pearse Architects (in collaboration with Brian Keirnan) conceived an open pavilion style of home that integrates wonderfully with the garden and evokes a real sense of living in the garden. The challenge of softening the transition between the floor level and the garden below was met with the incorporation of a long pond in between, creating a natural and serene border between the garden and home.
