This warm and colourful family home in Lilyfield, Sydney is the home of interior designer Tim Leveson and his art consultant wife, Libby Knott. This couple clearly has artistic and design skills to burn, with a striking interior design and some beautiful furniture and decor items designed by Tim. The fabulous art collection includes a major piece over the master bed by Aboriginal artist Deborah Nakamarra. The home was designed to provide a blank canvas to showcase their furniture and art collection, with a casual holiday vibe where the family and their regular visitors could feel completely at home.
In making over what was an unloved and dilapidated house for a growing young family, the couple retained the integrity of the home's era, by accentuating features such as the shiplap walls in the hallway. The timber floors were scrubbed with steel wool and left unvarnished, revealing a rustically soft and beautiful floor, unlike any other. [photography by Michael Wee]
