Step into this home in Washington, where texture and skilful colour contrasting has enlivened the interiors. The owners wanted to start from scratch with the living areas and gave away all the furniture before handing over the reigns to designer Jesse Moyer of Jessica Helgerson Interior Design. The cool background palette of white walls and a white sofa are given texture and depth with the introduction of a buffalo-hide rug and a vintage chair.

The dining area accommodates a huge dining table thats over 5 metres long (!) and made of 5 inch thick acacia wood. This substantial piece is softened by the open style of the woven pendant light and Hans Wegner wishbone chairs. The den is a moodier room, contrasting against the living and dining areas with a dramatic grey palette, comfy velvet sofa and accents of orange and green.
