Lakeside prefab architecture in New Jersey

By Kim McFayden 3 years agoNo Comments

Originally this magical lakeside site had a ramshackle cabin which the owner decided to live in for a while to acclimatise and be sure of what she wanted before knocking it down and re-building. She also needed to find the right architect to create the vision so was happy when Resolution: 4 Architecture were able to offer a prefabricated house with some customisation. “The old house was like a cave, and I wanted this house to be the opposite: a pavilion where you didn’t feel enclosed at all. We used every inch of glass allowable under the code! The reason we came here is the outdoors, and the house is designed so that the outside is an extension of the inside.”

The light-filled open plan interior certainly makes the most of the magical lakeside setting and achieves the owners desire to bring the outside in. And I’m loving that doggy door!
