This captivating and contemporary barn style home is located on Long Island in New York and was designed by architects Leroy Street Studio. The architectural aim was to capture the qualities of a traditional barn while creating a modern building that responded to the dramatic views. After entering through the louvered façade the substantial proportions of the structure become obvious, with a 2-storey foyer and a 3-storey interior garden courtyard. The timber and steel frame has a slotted skylight above the open plan living, dining and kitchen areas, which allows lots of natural light to flood the interiors of the home.
