A restful natural colour scheme for coastal Cape Town

By Kim McFayden 4 years agoNo Comments

This home in Higgovale, on the coast of Cape Town in South Africa was born from a collaboration between two architecture firms, Saoto designing the home and Three14 carrying out the design development and construction. A restful, natural interior scheme has been achieved through the use of organic textures and colours. Beautiful timber detailing and polished concrete floors are enhanced with neutral furniture tones, suiting the relaxed coastal location. The site is affected by severe winds so protecting the family and providing a homely interior to suit the diverse needs of a growing family was important in the design. Also, the design takes full advantage of the wonderful views and integrates the interiors really well with the garden.
